The newest section of the Alpha Loop trail in Alpharetta has opened, offering a scenic route for walking, biking, and exploring.

Opened this month, the newest section of the Alpha Loop stretches from Old Milton Parkway to Northwinds Parkway, and it includes a tunnel under Westside Parkway. This new 1-mile connection features an overlook bridge and is thought to be one of the most scenic.
With the opening of the new section, the Alpha Loop now connects Downtown Alpharetta to Avalon and Northwinds District.
The Alpha Loop is an amazing project in Alpharetta, with the first phase being completed in 2020. When Alpha Loop is fully completed, the 4-mile network will link neighborhoods with more than 15,000 jobs and four of Alpharetta’s activity hubs: Avalon, Downtown, the North Point Eco District, and Northwinds.
The trail will also connect to the 26-mile Big Creek Greenway, providing access to neighboring communities and to MARTA.
