Activities Amp Up This Fall At Dahlonega’s Newest Winery

Doghobble Wine Farm opened in Dahlonega over the summer, but the excitement is just getting started.

Currently Doghobble is pouring seven different wines including staples like Rose, Pinot Noir, and Chardonnay. But you’ll also find Norton (love the pepper hints in this varietal), Lenoir (how Spanish missionaries made their communal wine), Traminette (Gewürztraminer is my favorite white wine; this is much like that but a bit heartier), and Carlos (a sweet muscadine that Georgia wine drinkers all know well).

Currently there is outdoor seating, and an indoor/outdoor covered pavilion and pouring area. You’ll also encouraged to purchase empanadas, charcuterie, sweet treats and more. Plus wine slushies, local beer and non-alcoholic options.

The owners, Sam and Robin Zamarripa, are working to renovate an old farmhouse on the property into a mid-century “modern rustic” indoor tasting room. That is scheduled to open in 2025.

While you walk the property, don’t miss visiting the farm. Alpacas, Shetland sheep, and Mr. Monty, the donkey welcome your attention.

  • Will Harris of White Oak Pastures Sept 19. Enjoy a reading from this beloved Ga farmer’s book, A Bold Return to Giving a Damn. Wine and food available.
  • Doghobble Family Farm Day Oct 6. A day of activities ideal for preschool and early elementary children ages 2-7.
