Just as spring was showing off, our family ventured to The Rock Ranch for the first time ever. I knew it would be fun, but I honestly had no idea how much there was to do there!! We filled an entire day with excitement and didn’t even get to try our hand at everything. I read somewhere that there are over 35 activities for families…THIRTY FIVE! Here are a few of our favorites.
Pick berries*. Depending on the season, you can find a limited amount of u-pick berries. Seasonally you’ll find strawberries, blueberries, raspberries and blackberries to name a few! Just want to enjoy the goodness without the work? No problem. You can pick up some fruit in the Country Store.
Cane Pole Fishing. Cane poles are provided. Throw a little hotdog or worm on the hook and try your hand at fishing in the lake.
Slide Hill. This was probably my oldest’s favorite! He did it no less than 100 times! Slide down a tube slide, right through the hill!
Strawberry Ice Cream*. Whatever you do, do not miss the homemade strawberry ice cream sold in the Farm Market. You can get it in a cup or cone, or in a large container to bring home.
Fireworks. When I visited with my family recently, we were lucky enough to see fireworks. Check the website for the next fireworks evening. There is no light pollution around The Rock so the fireworks show spectacularly against the night sky!
Zip Line and Rock Wall*. Zip across the farm or climb the rock wall for a fabulous view! Zip line rides are $8 or $12.75. Rock Climbing wall is $5.
Paddle Boats. Pick two seats or four, and paddle your way across the lake. Don’t miss a view of the “full moon.”
Locomotive Train Ride. All aboard the locomotive! Take a ride around the farm, with great views of all the entertainment.
Tiny Town. Make your way through the firehouse, the vet, the bank and even the jail! Your little ones will love exploring.
Pedal Carts. Climb onto a pedal cart and take it for a spin around the track. Don’t forget closed-toe shoes.
Treehouse/Playground. Near the office and Farm Market you’ll see a wooden play structure nestled among the trees. Slides, swings, and tons of fun. We played here for over an hour…it was a favorite spot.
Stay the night*. The Rock Ranch is an ideal place for an overnight! Try a night in a Conestoga Wagon, like we did! Looking for something a little more comfortable? Try the “Southern Living” style Farm Stay homes that sleep up to eight.
